RED House Announces Visionary "Bisri Eco City"

RED House Announces Visionary Bisri Eco City Project as Sustainable Alternative for Mount Lebanon

Beirut, Lebanon – 7/7/2020 – RED House is proud to announce its visionary concept for the development of the Bisri Valley, introducing the Bisri Eco City project. This ambitious initiative represents RED House's innovative solution for the sustainable development of the 5,000,000 sqm land that the government acquired in Bisri Valley, offering a compelling alternative to the traditional and potentially catastrophic Bisri dam project.

Bisri Eco City is designed as a fully integrated, master-planned eco-community, harmoniously blending modern living with nature through advanced technology and regenerative principles. At its core, this project champions sustainability and green living, incorporating cutting-edge green building technologies. It significantly limits traditional automobile access within the village perimeter, prioritizing electric vehicles and promoting pedestrian and bicycle traffic through an extensive network of walking and biking trails. The community is envisioned to harness solar and other renewable energy sources to achieve energy self-sufficiency.

Aligning with the global "Regen Villages" movement, Bisri Eco City is conceived as an off-grid community capable of producing its own food, water, and electricity. RED House's mission through Bisri Eco City is to promote experiential learning about meeting fundamental human needs for shelter, food, energy, livelihood, and social connectedness in ways that are aligned with the long-term health and viability of Earth and all its inhabitants.

The multifaceted development will encompass:

  • Residential: Offering second homes in an eco-friendly setting.

  • Agriculture: Featuring on-site farming, including fish farming (with potential for caviar production) and other agricultural initiatives.

  • Hospitality: Including boutique hotels, resorts, spas, and a variety of restaurants.

  • Cultural: Encompassing various cultural attractions and initiatives.
